Don't you think that he will come out with 100 excuses for this since he doesn't seems to be knowing the subject.

If Temp Licence to be issues for all Cable TV does this means that all Cable TV can relecast???

They probably won't give a temp license anytime soon cos then it will seem obvious that the cable TV networks were shut down until the world cup was over.

These bastards will probably delay a bit more.

Yes Man what you have told is absolutly correct. They have shut down this till the World Cup is over. How mean they are????

Its more than a month and things have not fallen into places yet. Hope some thing happens soon.

Guys did youlll read the Sunday Leader article of 09.07.2006(Hidden hand behind the cable TV fiasco)

It had exposed the entire scam and the man behind is the abeywardena guy the owner of TV Lanka (A channel nobody watches)

Once CBN & LBN were closed he had written to the president asking his company to run both stations and mind you he is a buddy of the HE and the Chairman of Tea Board.

It is now transpired that he is also running on a borrowed licence.

When I checked with LBN customer care, they haven't heard anything about a Temporary License. They literarily know nothing about it except matters are postponed till 18/Jul/2006.

How Careless?

The above post is almost a carbon copy of the one on the CBNSat Forum.

Is this another hype about CBNSat or CBNSat customer care is being careless ?

I am in search of alternatives. But still has not found a suitable replacement.

Yes. A rep said that they don't know anything temp license. However, hoping to have the services after 18th July.

Usual stuff

actually when I spoke to a rep they seemed to know about the article and said that they are very hopeful of resuming transmission after their hearing on the 18th with much of the hope being due to this temporary license

As of now nothing. I Spoke to a Rep in LBN and they told me that they are hoping to resume by July 18th. Apart from that they no nothing. Also i inquired abt the refund of our payments. They were hesitated to answer this questiong and they replied me saying that things will be fine after 18th July.

Is it that after a weeks things will be fine???

From CBN side it apears that their lawyers working on the temp license issue.

Hope LBN too act on it. If not, it is really bad since it will only be another hope "to resume the services by July 18th"

TV Lanka Program done by their owner Mr.Abeywardena.

Very few of you would have watched the 2nd part of the above program yesterday. Mr. Abeywardena told that both LBN & CBN has been operating under forged copies of his original license. Can you believe this? Is he the original owner of said license?

Throughout the program he refers the operations of both companies to a “Kassippu Seller” (Illicit liquor) and said that if some cops raid a Kasippu spot and taken the owners to the court then the public should protest and demand the services to be backed as they enjoy it. This guy doesn’t seem to know that you can’t match apples with oranges. How can he match cable TV with a Kasippu Seller? If somebody has license he can easily run a cable TV but not a kasippu business.

In the latter part of the program, he said that a letter was sent to the authorities indicating that he can grant permission to operate both companies under his license if the authorities agreed. Does it mean that he has permission to run a Kasippu operation? Perhaps he runs a kasippu spot with his license!!!

This is only one part of his funny/comic program. Those who watch it in full would have enjoyed it very much.

I think apart from the customers, Sunday leader, LBN / CBN others are not takeing any notice on the issuues. Sunday times, is not doing any thing but they carried full page advertisments in good times. plese show your honesty, where is the UNP, are silent about the 4.7 m voters.lawers any way making money....TV Lanka chairman comes on his channel & saying that he is the only qulified person in Srilanka. where are the educated persons in SL.He claims that Rupavahini is uplink to jaffna is illegal. where is TRC. Can a person make such comments while court heraing happening

CBN Customer......
When i contacted customer care today, i was informed that they have been issued with the temporary licence. But in order to restart transmission, the judge was needed to be informed first and that will happen on the hearing on aug 15th.Thats what the customer care said. I dont see why they should delay this if they are issued with a temp licence. Can anyone contact customer care and confirm? ........

I checked the situation with LBN rep. He says that they too have applied for temp license expecting to receive it soon and probably will get it before th next court hearing on 18th July.He further said that probably they could have services back by then.

These LBN reps say different things at their wish when you call them. They have a useless/irresponsible customer care manager. Pretend be busy/not in office each time we call…neither update the other team members.

At appears that they get updated through us.

Since suspended, their motto is “Sir we are very confident that we can resume transmission from the next court hearing date”

Common LBN management please keeps your customers updated as they have been with you all this time.
