Confirmation from LBN

We have received confirmation from LBN regarding the postponement of their Appeals Court Case to October 13th.

"The TRC has not obtained the presidents signature and requested for one more week to do so. Court granted time until 13th October noting that this is the “FINAL” date for a settlement. - Shirantha Herath"

Please keep us updated on the latest news regarding LBN as the days progress.

It is good to hear that the final date for a settlement is on 13th October.
But it is upto the President to sign it, who has supreme statutory power.

Also the story around town is that once you get the TRC licence you need to get Media Licence. Can some one verify this.
How long will it take ?
Has this been Gazetted ?
Is the Media Licence Applications out ?
Is this the reason Dialog picked up a media licence from Asset Media ?

Will be interesting to see !

That's true. When LBN MD replied to this blog regarding 19th Sep hearing he said that" the counsel for the Media Minister stated that the application for the media license is being processed".

Wonder whether it is still being processed!!!!

I am sure that LBN lawyers would have checked the status of this in subsequesnt hearings.

If the President has given a directive to TRC to issue licences immediately to operators with MOD.Why does LBN require the Presidents signature they can show the judge their MOD clearance and a copy of the Presidents directive.

Judge would have thought that daily news as an unreliable source :(

Has the President given a directive to TRC?
