Court hearing postponed to Nov 28th 2006

The learned authorities at the Appeals Court have postponed the court case to November 28th it seems. We are however unable to obtain confirmation about this postponement. This is now becoming the style of these court hearings.

We are also unable to ascertain the reason for the postponement too. Please update us if any of you out there have more information.

Sri Lanka set a landmark by sliding down the press freedom ratings yesterday. A recent report on Lanka Business On Line says that Pay Tv piracy is on the rise in Asia and very soon looks like Sri Lanka will hold the number one spot when people are being denied the right to entertainment and they begin looking for alternative means either legally or illegally. Please refer the TV Radio Sri Lanka blog for further details on this.

Please keep us updated on the latest regarding LBN as the days progress.

LBN MD own the german restaurant!!

Let's all boycott this restaurant!!!

The way that the LBN management behaves has come down the line to the staff. A low-down scum of the earth attitude!!!!!

All subscribers must band together and screw the so-called businessman

It is not his fault it's Tv Lanka guy and Satnet guys dirty work is going on here. No one can do anything even the SC. They are doing everything to get these two companies to their hand that's for sure.

TV Lanka guy once agreed to buy both CBN and LBN in public.

If you are good businessman, then you should be able counter attack and defeat them.

LBN approach has been very poor on this.

Dish TV
dishtv is available across India and even in adjacent countries like Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka & Pakistan etc. Thus you need not worry at all of being out of coverage area.
When you buy a dishtv connection you get - Hardware / Equipment:
• Dish with LNB
• Digibox and cable
• Viewing Card (VC)

The Digibox with the VC will be installed in your home, connected to your TV. While the Dish will be fixed outside on a Roof/ Terrace/ Veranda/ Lawn etc wherever it can face the direction of the satellite without any disruption / blockage in between. The installation is done by our experts.
You can pay your subscription fees directly through your dealer or credit card ( Web Access)

There are enough dealers here to sell dish TV

Some of the idiots who post blogs to this are showing how ignorant they are. They start to put the whole blame on the LBN MD rather that identifying the real situation. I am not praising him like a henchman but he is someone who has toiled to build up LBN. I believe he is a genuine business man who is not willing to go after the beaureacrats bribing them and go after politicos offering perks to get things done.
I think those morons who critisise the LBN MD should critisize the real roughs behind this and give the full backing to LBN, who is building up and developing infrastructure to this country, rather than setting up a quick go satellite solution to earn money.
Unlike satellite operators who continuosly pump millions of dollars to foriegn countries, LBN is providing jobs to srilankan youth and building up infrastructure to this country.

Those who think they are so smart actually know nothing, so shut the hell up and try to be helpful to this local company to survive and to provide everyone better services.

yeah i think the admin may have to protect the LBN blog like the CBNSat one and only allow logged in users to edit cos the same joker keeps posting things against LBN. I've noticed it throughout the last few posts. He seems to be especially against LBN director (the herath guy). I think he even called him a sakkiliya a few weeks ago.

I think most of the allegations against LBN management were mainly due to their poor communication regarding the status of the issue. Yes, we shall not use dirty words and target individuals.

But, what have they achieved during last 06 months? LBN needs to change their strategy...how long can they survive?

These pundits who appeared to know everything, should tell us what is happening? Are we supposed to wait for years!!!!

LBN MD should take the responsibility for not having proper licence from TRC and Media Ministry since inception. If they have it why can’t they produce such licence at the courts? If some pundit says that these are new regulations, then how come the Comet Cable operates?

There is some kind of support from the government to Comet Cable and also If there is no law for cable and satellite Tv how come TV Lanka operates & Sri Lakvahini also will be in air very soon.

God knows how

If you have a political power you don't need licence or anything.

Exactly...that's why we say, that LBN need to change...no point waiting for things to happen!!!

We are getting some news that CBN is in the process of finalising a deal with Rupahavini Corporation and be on air soon.

Dear Friend,

Whether go to German restaurant or Mathara Bath kade we are not concern about in related to the cable TV problem. Buddhist monk killed Bandaranayaka in that scenario if you are a Buddhist how many temples that you have boycotted. Don’t talk crap here. We are also waiting to get our connection back. This is not Canagay’s or Herath’s issues the authorities have done the mess & to over come the issues all these unwanted un presidential things are happening. At lease we have to appreciate the fact that with out any income the both companies are fighting for the injustices. There is a price for the entire process. Staff salaries other over heads ect……if you want to win the battle against some one personally take it on them in a separate manner. Don’t try to get a MOODA CHUUN HERE. If you are really series about this matter please be present in the courts on November 28th.
Another one, if the people are not using this blog that’s not LBN’s problem that’s absolutely the blog administrations problem.

It is nearing two months since President has advised TRC to issue licence to LBN. However, HE is yet to sign the documents forwarded by TRC.

You can imagine the signing procedure and efficiency of the government authorities including the head of state!!!

Obviously, they are not in a hurry, as the next general election is in 2010. Until then we can enjoy our indo cultured local TV stuff. Ancient people called it “indo nimna sistacharya”

Has anyone checked out lbn.lk lately, some interesting info there

Anonymous said...

Question is whether they have paid Rs.250,000.00?
TRC letter was dated 10th

Anonymous said...

Nothing interesting about it and it's stale news. LBN has to be more proactive.

Anonymous said...

They would have paid. If not it would have come out in court. However, if they have not paid they should pay it and move on.

Anonymous said...

It would have been ideal if they had shown the pay slip as well.

Otherwise this only one way traffic
