New twist in LBN Case

The LBN Court Case has now taken a new twist and it seems that at the last hearing the Media Ministry has said that they will not allow LBN to operate without the media license, according to a news item in the Daily News today (17th Oct - Please refer post below). But LBN have said that they have the media license. Now if LBN has the media license then doesn't the Media Ministry know to whom they have issued licenses. This is seen by many as an attempt by the authorities and their henchmen to drag this case further.

Mr. President the authorities do not seem to be following any directives issued by you. Sir, please relieve these incompetent people of their duties and replace them with more efficient people.

We have not received any official communication from LBN regarding the last hearing and we hope that LBN will be able to clarify these new issues that are now cropping up.

Please keep us updated on the latest news regarding LBN as the days progress.

LBN next time you go to court take all your Fuxxxxx licences including your driving license and show the judge and finish this off without draging the situation, people are getting frustrated specially since you are not saying anything.

The Licence that LBN already having, is not a media licence under the Rupavahini Corporation Act.

LBN please refund our hard earned money. It's inevitable that your case is at a dead end. Let us be free from this hassle. You may fight but don't take us from battle to battle until you loose the war.

Freinds,
It is only few of us who uses this blog ( less than 100 I guess)knows how badly LBN handles this case and it's poor management style.

Is there anyway that we could communicate the same to others? The only mode they get information is via the outdated letters from LBN.

What the Hell is the lawyers appearing for LBN is doing? Arent they aware that LBN needs a Media License? Without knowing that what the Hell they are arguing in the courts? How much are you paying for these guys? Must have cost you a fortune for the last 5 months and I wonder they are taking LBN for a ride...!!! LBN shouldnt have go behind lawyers and would be better off if you just Bribe few guys in TRC and MediaMinistry to get things done.

Dear Shiranthi

It took nearly 05 months to get TRC licence. Do you need another 05 months to get media licence? It has been proven that you have operated without both these licence and issued us illegal connections. However, your lawyers still try to sue the CID officers for sealed off LBN satellite TV transmission system illegally and unlawfully ( even at the last hearing on 13th Oct 2006)

If you don’t have a brain to understand this, sell your business to a cable man. You can easily find a job at baluwardena or huluballa who welcome people like you

Inform all your friends, neighbours, realtives and enimies south of Dickamn's road in the LBN trasmission area and tell their friends, neighbours, realtives and enimies about THE SHITTY JOB AND SERVICE THE SCUM @ LBM ARE DISHING OUT!!!!!

LBN mgmt has no voice and decency to admit that they are wrong and will fix the problem. No bone of honesty. Why quiet???

ICC matches, Bombs and MR's buddies will screw the next hearing thro the MM "pumbaya".

I am seriously considering DISH TV , anyone here made the switch yet?.. i am seriously sick of this BS! , thank god that we are close enough to india to leech into their ever growing economy and infrustructure. While we in Sri Lanka suffer from red tape and hidden agendas!!

News is so bad that LBN is yet to receive the TRC Licence.

Anonymous said...

That's correct. They still haven't received the licence from TRC.

Nothing to comment.

This is Sri Lanka under the new " Chinthanaya".

Just now call LBN;

Informed that on 25th they will be able to tell the transmission resume date & if you need Refund’s.. you have to write a request letter to the Manager & they will refund your money as well

Anonymous said...

This is the same old story...

Everytime there is a hearing they say this. Even before last hearing on 13th they said they will be able to tell the transmission resume date by 13th evening. What happened? not even a respose to admin of this blog from LBN management.

There is no refunds clause in the agreement.

Guys,

Any updates on what is happening?

Anonymous said...

According to LBN reps, the TRC has not yet given them license pending the president signature. Today is a public holiday and tomorrow is the hearing. We can expect another postponement tomorrow.

This is what we deserve, when we have appointed wrong people!!!!!

I CBNsat will be tying up with another licenced operator and will be on air very soon and much before LBN.

The appeal court is not going to give a decesion untill the SC case of CBNsat is resolved.

The most prudent thing to do is to tie up with a licenced operator as CBN.

Anonymous said...

the previous blogger is right and i hear cbnsat is comming to an agreement with a licenced operator and doing everything to be back on air by the end of this month and there is a speculation that the tie up is either with Rupavahini,SLT or Dialog.

Yes if by chance TRC issues the licence they will drag the case on the media licence, and you all know what our media secretary is capable of.

Anonymous said...

Blog ADMIN if you have any information about the present STATUS of LBN matter please update us.

Anonymous said...

These tie ups are just stories!!!LBN is in better position to commence on it's own but failed so far due to poor approach!!!
