Defence Ministry response to be given today

Today 1st September 2006 the Defence Ministry is due to give their responce for the LBN application that was forwarded to them by the TRC.

According to sources, if a positive application is received today then the TRC will process the application in one weeks time.

We sincerely hope that the Defence Ministry will issue a positive response taking into consideration the thousands of consumers who are being inconvenienced as a result of the closure of this cable tv provider. We do understand that the MoD has more urgent matters but then this is not a issue that needs to be dragged any longer. After all there is no threat to national security in providing a cable tv service.

We would like our fellow readers to keep us updated on any news of the response provided by the MoD as well as any other news regarding LBN as we enter into the first weekend of the month of September.

I really admire your perseverance for what is right and honest in this matter, I find it incomprehensible that this could happen in a modern day civilized, educated society. To withhold news media, entertainment and education from the people has no positive objective whatsoever, We must all work towards progress and the elimination of ignorance and prejudice in this world.

As for the Fashion Channel fuss, this is transmitted all over the world, even in the more orthodox religious and suppressed countries, this is only fashion, and one has the choice to switch it off!

Good luck in your tenacity for your rights, and the rights of your nation. Truth will always prevail.

Least we Forget:

Permanence, perseverance and persistence in spite of all obstacles, discouragements, and impossibilities: It is this, that in all things distinguishes the strong soul from the weak.

Perseverance gives power to weakness, and opens to poverty the world's wealth. It spreads fertility over the barren landscape, and buds the choicest flowers and fruits spring up and flourish in the desert abode of thorns and briars.

let's hope someone from lbn can update this blog with the lates info on what's going on (atleast now the CEO of the company has taken notice of the customers). As for the previous posting fashion tv is shown on all the cable tv operations in SL carries it (even the operators who are allowed to operate without the new licences that the regulators insist.). you can check satnets and comets prog lineup to verify this.
For me what's happening right now clearly shows that there's no transparency in the country's investment promotion strtergy. After all a company which was endorsed by the BOI and launched by the then media minister himself as the chief guest has been shutdown with no legal redress. how safe can the others consider them selves to be?.
