LBN Appeals Court case postponed to Oct 13th

It looks like the LBN Court Case has been postponed to Oct 13th. The President asked the TRC to issue licenses immediately for the cable tv operators who have obtained MoD approval but looks like there is another meaning for the word "immediately" in Sri Lanka.

We have not got confirmation from LBN regarding this postponement but all reports indicate it. So it looks like a wait of more than a week.

Please keep us updated on the latest developments regarding LBN as the days progress. By the way is LBN still carrying out test transmissions on Thursdays?

This comment doesn't 100% pertain to this thread. But I think it's important. Could the blog admins contact LBN and ask for a response with regard to the extremely dodgy answers given to customers by the LBN reps. Following is the sort of things a subscriber is likely to hear

One rep will say license will be granted end of the month DEFINITELY another will say next month another will say no idea

One rep says yes the court case is on today another will say that they don't know anything about a court case today

Management is never available to answr a customer's call. (LBN should probably sell most of their office chairs and recover some of the lost money because the management is never in their seats.)

Reps say that the management aren't telling them what's going on so they in turn can't tell the customers what's going on.

LBN phones ring for a very long time with no answer and then next call tehy are engaged

The management do not entertain customer enquiries but they seem to respond to enquiries by the blog admin (thank god for that at least that) so could you please quizz the LBN management on the above concerns? I'm sure they are common concerns for all LBN customers

Many thanks

I feel very sorry for these poor reps as they have not been updated by the management. So their obvious answer is “Sir we have to wait till next hearing date”. I wonder whether they receive their monthly salaries.

Managers use them to cover themselves like LTTE sending child soldiers to the battle front forward defense line.

So LBN Management, if you run your business like this you will be in deep trouble, even if you receive license on 13th due intense competition with new players who will soon enter the market.
