LBN Case postponed to 18th July 2006
Reports indicate that the LBN Situation is far more complicated than CBNSat. Hopefully the management of LBN will give a full explanation to the public via a press conference or any other means. It is high time they explain the present situation to their customers.
Hopefully our fellow bloggers will continue to update the latest situation regarding LBN as the day progresses and as the story unravels. Still there are no confirmed reports of what actually happened in the court today.
More participation on the part of LBN customers is required, since we do not see the LBN customers being active as the CBNSat Customers are.
To all CBNSat / LBN Customers - Meeting
We have been getting many requests on this blog to set up a meeting for all the customers who are suffering from this situation.
We will try our best to set up a meeting for all CBNSat and LBN Customers after waiting for the outcome of the CBNSat hearing tomorrow (LBN Customers will have to decide based on the court decision today). Please email us the convienient times and days. I suggest we do this meeting after you guys have finished work on a weekday. If there is any lawyer who is a customer of CBNSat/LBN or who likes to help us please email and come for the meeting and advice us.
We need you guys to be genuine. Please no jokes and do not fail to come after promising that you will come. Over a hundred people will be good.
We the admins will not be present for this meeting due to security concerns but we will try to arrange a public place for you guys to meet and discuss the matter. We are confident that you guys will be able to come up with a solution. We need you to email us with your real name and contact details and the alias that you used to post in this blog. We will keep your details confidential. However we are concerned how many of you people out their will come due to fear of revealing yourselves. We will arrange this meeting based on the response only. So the faster you respond the better it is.
If you are in agreement to the above please email us on tvradiosrilanka@yahoo.com
LBN Cable TV Court Case today - 27th June 2006
Things look positive as news report on LBO website under the heading "Sri Lanka to issue license for satellite TV operators" says that the TRC has asked all Cable TV and Satellite TV companies to register themselves. Todays result of the LBN Case may set the tone for the CBNSat case which is scheduled for tomorrow.
Information is just trickling in and hopefully the blog readers will be able to update this forum on the latest news as and when it happens in court.
Our sincere wish is that the judge will see that the customers are not inconvienced anymore.
Good Luck to the management and legal team of LBN. Your customers are surely standing with you in this time of hardship.

LBN Management why are you so silent?
The management of LBN as far as I hear are not telling their customers anything, neither are they having any press conference to tell their side of the story.
The management of LBN your customers will stand hand in hand with you, but please make your position known.
Over to the management of LBN Cable TV.

LBN Directors appear in CBNSat case
I was read an interesting letter by a customer that appeared in The Island 22nd June 2006 Page 7 under the caption Cable TV : Confusion Worst confounded where the reader has written giving their displeasure over the present crisis. It is good for the you out there to give your opinions in the papers in the form of letters to the editor where you can express your frustration over the entire crisis. I am sure the authorities are reading these opinions.
We need well written opinions from the people out their to appear in the newspapers regarding the problems faced by the subscribers who have spent their hard earned money and bought these connections to watch something worthwhile. Even if the operators were operating illegally then the first problem is why did they the authorities wait so long to shut them down and the other issue is that they are shutting down the operators without giving consideration to the people using these services. Given below are the email addresses of major newpapers for their editors. I suggest that you say "Letters to the Editor" in the Subject line of the email.

Maybe if anyone can provide the address, fax number and email address of the Media Ministry then the customers can write to the ministry and also request them to issue the licenses and sort these problems out.
There is no use scolding anyone or blaming anyone let's just concentrate on requesting these people to allow these providers to resume services.
Also a sincere request out to all bloggers. PLEASE DO NOT POST FOUL LANGUAGE

LBN Case on 27 June 2006
Although there is no confirmation of this scenario. We hope the management of LBN will confirm this report.
At least the CBNSat customers had court cases almost every two days. This situation has risen to kill the cable tv industry in sri lanka and the perpetrators of this should be punished immediately.
All CBNSat customers are hoping that CBNSat scenario will be okay from tomorrow. It is time for all the Cable TV Industry players to form an association and the cable tv viewers also to form an association as in the future who knows what the others will be upto. The sad thing is that the Maharaja's and the EAP's and other media institutions have not come forward to support these institutions because they feel that these players are reducing their viewership. In fact they will be happy if all these guys are closed down. Action TV, etc is all none sense when a broadcaster is being victimised and no one does anything about it.
SHAME ON YOU ALL TV STATIONS IN SRI LANKA.
LBN Directors asked to appear before court tomorrow 21st June 2006
Anyway the directors of LBN will have to appear before courts tomorrow along with the directors of CBNSat and SATNet. This appeared in the Daily News of 20th June 2006
http://cbnsat.blogspot.com/2006/06/notice-issued-on-cbnsat-lbn-and-satnet.html
Like I mentioned before please keep us updated on the events that transpire today. It looks like information on CBNSat is coming out faster than LBN, hopefully the management at LBN will make necessary arrangements to update us on the happenings regarding the closure of LBN. Let's just hope that everything gets sorted out today.

What is happening at LBN?
There have been no reports though on what type of action they have taken against the perpetrators of this situation. Have they taken the matter to courts? Anyone who can enlighten us on this issue, you are welcome to do so.
